Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity to advance your transport career with a market-leading structural steel fabrication and construction company. We are currently seeking experienced, safety-focused HC (Heavy Combination) Drivers for ongoing local delivery roles.

Location: Sunshine West

Shifts: Monday to Friday | 6:30 am - 7:00 am starts

Shift Duration: 8–10 hours per shift (Overtime available)

Pay: $43.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HC vehicles (flat-tops, drop-decks, and semi-trailers) safely and efficiently for local site deliveries across metropolitan Melbourne.
• Ensure heavy, oversized structural steel loads and scaffolding gear are correctly chained, strapped, and secured to standard before departure.
• Liaise professionally with dispatch, site supervisors, and tower crane operators for safe on-site loading and unloading procedures.
• Complete vehicle pre-start checks, maintain accurate run sheets/logbooks, and report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
• Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, chain of responsibility (CoR) regulations, and site-specific PPE requirements.

Requirements

• Valid Australian Heavy Combination (HC) Open Driver’s Licence.
• Minimum 12 months of local HC driving experience (experience carting structural steel, oversized loads, or building materials is highly regarded).
• Proficient in strapping, chaining, and binding heavy steel loads securely.
• Ability to provide a current VicRoads driving history report.
• Strong reliability, a commitment to early morning starts, and a proactive attitude toward workplace health and safety.
• Current Construction Induction Card (White Card) is essential. High-risk licences (LF or DG) are a major advantage.
